84 Lumber Classic Champion Trusts Pro V1x to Win First Career PGA Tour Title

(September 19th 2005) Fairhaven, MA (September 19, 2005) - Against a strong field that boasted four of this year's top six money leaders, the 84 Lumber Classic champion relied upon the Titleist Pro V1x golf ball en route to a one stroke victory and his first career PGA Tour title.

When he landed his approach shot on the lower fringe of the green on the final hole, the eventual winner trusted his Scotty Cameron putter to two-putt from over 90-feet for a par and the title. His 14-under 274 total was three shots better than third-place finisher and full-line Titleist staff player Ben Crane (Pro V1x) and four clear of Tim Herron (Pro V1x) as Titleist players secured three of the top four positions on the leaderboard.

The winner, who also relies on a Vokey Design Spin Milled lob wedge for
his success, earned a performance promotion to the PGA Tour in last month following his third Nationwide Tour victory of the year. In addition to
the four victories he has posted since July, the 84 Lumber Classic
champion also trusted Titleist in his breakthrough performance at the U.S. Open in June and when he fired a 59 en route to his pivotal victory at the Cox Classic in August. He became just the second player to win an event on the Nationwide Tour and the PGA Tour in the same season, and the first since 1996.

The victory marks the 21st for Titleist players on the 2005 PGA Tour,
compared to 8 for the nearest competitor. Titleist topped the 84 Lumber
Classic golf ball count with 102 players, more than six times the nearest
competitor with 15. Titleist was also the field favorite in the iron (29),
utility iron (8), wedge (109) and putter (55) categories.
