TaylorMade Introduces rac MB TP IronsNew Variation on the Classic Muscle-Back Blade is Already Played Like all products in TaylorMade's TP line, the rac MB TP was designed with input by tour pros to ensure that the look, feel, control and playability is all in keeping with a tour pro's needs. Visually, the MB TP is characterized by its compact size and distinct shape, which are evocative of TaylorMade's rac TP irons. Forged of carbon steel, the rac MB TP's muscle-back design is engineered with minimal offset and a high center of gravity (CG) that contributes to the kind of excellent workability and low, controllable ball flight that many tour pros favor in an iron. Enlarged, second-generation rac feel pockets promote softer feel and sound, and the milled face and grooves deliver a consistent spin-rate of spin and trajectory from shot to shot. The rac MB TP features TaylorMade's beautiful new Tour Satin finish, which combines enhanced glare reduction with excellent durability. The process involves using a rough surface to brush the head, applying nickel chrome, then brushing the head again. The finish created by this brush-chrome-brush process reduces more glare than TaylorMade's previous satin finishes. Additionally, the rac MB TP incorporates TaylorMade's Tour bounce configuration, which includes specially designed leading edges that minimize digging, and a softer trailing edge that promotes a smoother transition when the sole leaves the turf following impact. The rac MB TP is being offered with frequency-matched Rifle Flighted® steel shafts in 6.5, 6.0, 5.0 flexes. Consumer availability will begin at TaylorMade's retail partners starting on May 1 at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $1,240 for 3-iron through PW. Custom shafts will be available starting on May 1; offerings include True Temper® Dynamic Gold®, Dynamic Gold Sensicore and Dynamic Gold SL (all in X100, S300 and R300), and Precision Rifle Project X (6.5, 6.0 and 5.5). "The rac MB TP is another example of us listening to our Tour Staff and answering with a product worthy of the tour in terms of looks and performance," said Jose Miraflor, manager of product creation, irons, wedges and putters. "We've just made this iron widely available on tour, and players are clamoring for it because of its great combination of looks, feel and playability. It's a winner."
