Rifle Project X Shells Competition with Another Win

(April 24th 2006) TORRINGTON, Conn. — Leading the Shell Houston Open wire-to-wire, Rifle Project X steel shafts once again delivered superior, Tour-winning performance through superior design. This week’s Shell Houston Open champion cruised to a comfortable victory playing Project X shafts in his irons and 7-wood, and he achieved the greatest margin of victory of his 14-year pro career.

The ‘Bayou City’ victory win was the 19th win of 2006 for Rifle-branded steel shafts, which many consider to be the premier steel shafts in golf today. In fact, according to the Official World Ranking of Golf on 4 April 2006, 10 of the Top 20 golfers in the world today play Rifle shafts, while the nearest steel shaft competitor only fields seven players.

“The Rifle Project X is the hottest steel shaft in golf today, and we’re very excited the technology and engineering we’ve incorporated into the design has delivered another dominating victory on Tour,” says Ray Lucas, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Royal Precision. “The Rifle Project X is a sophisticated shaft design that not only features the patented internal ‘rifling’ that Rifle-branded shafts are so well-known, but it also possesses a different constant taper per inch for each shaft in the set. This increased taper rate provides a much greater energy transfer to the ball at the time of impact. The ball gets up faster and flattens out for a penetrating trajectory.”

This year, premium Royal Precision steel shafts have also won the 2006 Masters Tournament as well as Mercedes Championship, Sony Open, BellSouth Classic, Bay Hill Invitational, WGC-Accenture MatchPlay Championship, HSBC Championship, Australian Open, Australian Masters, Australian PGA Championship, Volvo China Open, Dunhill Championship, South African Airways Open, Abu Dhabi Championship, Commercialbank Qatar Masters, Portugal Open, BMW Asian Open and the Safeway International.
