Kiva Dunes (Gulf Shores, AL) Named to ‘America’s Best Residential Golf Courses’ List

(GULF SHORES, Alabama) – The Gulf Shores Golf Association with 10 signature golf courses and 32 miles of sugar-white-sand beaches today announces that Kiva Dunes Golf & Beach Club – a Gulf Shores Golf Association member course – has been named to Golfweek magazine’s elite list of “America’s 100 Best Residential Golf Courses” for 2006.

In ranking Kiva Dunes No. 76, Golfweek heralded the course’s relationship to the overall community plan, the variety, conditioning and playability of the layout, and “how pleasing and interesting the course is as an experience.” Kiva Dunes is listed ahead of esteemed residential courses such as Reynolds Plantation (GA), Troon North (Scottsdale, AZ), Greystone (Birmingham, AL) and others.

The residential ratings are derived directly from Golfweek's annual list of America's Best Courses, published each March since 1997. America's Best Golf Courses are ranked by more than 350 raters throughout the country, who judge on the basis of 10 evaluation criteria. Rankings are calculated using a statistically rigorous process.
