(POCONO MOUNTAINS, Pennsylvania) – The Pocono Mountains Vacation Bureau, Inc. today announced that Jack Frost National Golf Club in Blakeslee has begun the final construction phase and anticipates a Fall 2006 opening.
Upon opening Jack Frost National Golf Club will join more than 35 resort and golf properties which are home to hundreds of holes of golf in the lush mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania and comprise the area’s rich golf destination – “Pocono Mountains: Discover Golf’s Great Destination Secret.”
Jack Frost National Golf Club has preliminarily begun the grow-in phase of the construction process. The 18-hole championship course will measure more than 7,200 yards and feature Lo-Mo Bluegrass fairways and Penn-4 Bent grass greens. Double-row irrigation system, five sets of tee boxes and a state-of-the-art practice facility are other facility attributes.
“This piece of land is turning into a magnificent golf course,” says Tom Wheary, President of Golf Strategies, LLC, which is construction project manager at Jack Frost National and will manage course operation upon opening. “Mother Nature has been very cooperative throughout the last year.”
