ECCO Re-signs International Golf Stars Juli Inkster and Iben Tinning
Agreements Bolster Expanding Roster of Staff Players
(January 11th 2006) (LONDONDERRY, New Hampshire) – Danish shoemaker ECCO announces the extension of its endorsement agreements with World Golf Hall of Famer Juli Inkster and Ladies European Tour no. 1 Iben Tinning.
Under terms of the agreements, both Inkster and Tinning will wear ECCO golf shoes exclusively during all on-course activities and appear at ECCO functions. Additionally, the ECCO logo will appear on the collar of Inkster’s golf shirt and on Tinning’s headwear.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to continue our relationships with these two great ambassadors of the game,” says ECCO golf division GM Per Aagren. “Juli is an all-time legend who continues to make an impact on the LPGA Tour. Iben had a tremendous 2005 season and is a marquee women’s player.”
Inkster, is a winner of seven majors, 30 LPGA Tour events and nearly $10 million (USD) in earnings. In 2005, she has claimed six top-10s in only 19 starts, including a runner-up finish at the ShopRite LPGA Classic. The 45-year-old Californian’s career in international competition stretches back to the 1982 Curtis Cup competition and includes six Solheim Cup appearances, including the victorious 2005 team.
A 31-year-old Dane, Tinning secured the LET Order of Merit title following a season that featured three victories and eight top-10 finishes in only 15 tournaments. She also competed as a member of the European Solheim Cup team for the third time in her career.
In addition to Inkster and Tinning, ECCO women’s golf shoes are worn in competition by numerous LET and LPGA players. ECCO is also the official footwear sponsor of the Ladies European Tour and the European Solheim Cup team.
