ECCO Launches Limited-Edition ‘Patriotic Collection’ Golf Shoes

(January 23rd 2006) (LONDONDERRY, New Hampshire) – Danish shoemaker ECCO announces the introduction of its new, limited-edition “Patriotic Collection” women’s golf shoe incorporating elements of the American flag.

This special, eye-catching, white-based shoe with red-white-and-blue highlights was worn in competition by Juli Inkster and other stars during the 2005 Solheim Cup. It will be produced as part of a one-time-only production run designed to meet significant market demand.

“When Juli and the other players wore this shoe during the Solheim Cup, golfers and retailers across the country took notice,” says Per Aagren, Head of Global Sales, ECCO Golf. “The Patriotic Collection is going to be the essential footwear for festive everyday, holiday and outing play in 2006.”

Based on the comfortable and popular ECCO sport outsole, the Patriotic Collection shoe retails for $140 and is available to premier retailers and golf shops participating in this limited opportunity, and at www.eccousa.com .

Highlighting the keen attention to fashion, form and function that has distinguished ECCO for more than 40 years, the 2006 women’s golf collection – including several fully waterproof Gore-Tex® models – features six completely new styles alongside five returning favorites. Retail prices are from $120 to $180.

In addition to Inkster, the 2006 women’s golf collection is worn in competition by dozens of LPGA and Ladies European Tour stars, including LET no. 1 Iben Tinning. Each model features water- and weather-resistant leather and is made using a direct-injection process unique in the field of golf footwear.

ECCO golf shoes are praised by Tour and everyday players for ultra-soft, high-grade leather and extra cushion provided by PU-injected midsoles for superior shock absorption. The extensive 2006 men’s golf collection is worn in competition by international stars Colin Montgomerie, Thomas Bjorn, Aaron Baddeley and Thongchai Jaidee.
