ECCO Golf Shoes, Golf Galaxy Join Forces for Charity
(April 19th 2006) (LONDONDERRY, New Hampshire) – Renowned Danish shoemaker ECCO has partnered with leading retailer Golf Galaxy, Inc. (Nasdaq: GGXY) to support Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation-affiliate Golf For the Cure through the Third Annual Women’s Only Event, being held April 25 at all Golf Galaxy locations.
The Women’s Only Event will feature a number of hands-on activities designed specifically for women golfers. Of special note is a silent auction featuring a highly-collectable, limited edition Patriotic Collection golf shoe autographed by LPGA Tour and World Golf Hall of Famer Juli Inkster. This is the same style Inkster – an ECCO staff player – and other competitors prominently wore during the 2005 Solheim Cup. Inkster, 46, recently captured the Safeway International title and is currently ranked among the top-10 players in the world.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity to work with a great partner like Golf Galaxy to support this important cause,” says C.B. Tuite, ECCO’s General Sales Manager, Golf Division.
Other highlights of the event include free gift bags, special offers, free swing analysis from Golf Galaxy’s on-site PGA Professionals, club fitting, refreshments and a variety of prizes. Attendees may also register to win a round of golf with LPGA Tour star Paula Creamer.
All proceeds from the Women’s Only Event will go toward Golf For the Cure. For more information please visit www.golfgalaxy.com/events .
ECCO are preferred by the world’s most discerning players, including international Tour stars Colin Montgomerie, Juli Inkster, Thomas Bjorn, Meena Lee, Iben Tinning, Aaron Baddeley, Sophie Gustafson and Thongchai Jaidee.
Highlighting the keen attention to fashion, form and function that has distinguished ECCO for more than 40 years, the 2006 ECCO golf collection includes numerous new styles for men and women, including several fully waterproof Gore-Tex® options. Each model features water- and weather-resistant leather, distinctive comfort and cushion features, and is made using a direct-injection process unique in the field of golf footwear
