Three of Top Five Finishers at the Bell Canadian Open Use Graphite Design Shafts

(Sept 12th 2005) (SAN DIEGO, Calif.) – Three of the top five finishers at the PGA TOUR’s Bell Canadian Open used Graphite Design International (“GDI”) shafts in their drivers and fairway woods, and the winner of the Suntory Open on the Japan PGA Tour played GDI shafts, according to the Darrell Survey.

All told, GDI shafts helped players in the Bell Canadian Open field win over $1 million, including the tournament leader in driving accuracy who used GDI’s YS-6 in his driver. Known for their industry-leading combination of accuracy and distance, GDI shafts have been played by the world’s best players en route to amassing over $47 million in earnings year-to-date.

“We are excited to have the top players at the Bell Canadian Open playing GDI, and to have won another manufacturer and brand count on the Japan PGA Tour,” says Akio Karashima, CEO of GDI. “Tour validation encourages everyday players to try GDI shafts. Once they make the switch, game improvement can be dramatic. ”
