Camp Creek to Host Southeastern Junior Golf Tour ‘Junior Classic’

Award-Winning Fazio Design Site of Third-Straight SJGT Tournament

(3rd January 2006) (SEAGROVE BEACH, Fla.) – St. Joe announces that Camp Creek Golf Club, the award-winning Tom Fazio layout along Northwest Florida’s stunning Gulf Coast, will host the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour’s (“SJGT”) Camp Creek Junior Classic, January 14-15.

The prestigious, two-day event features the top 90 players among the 12,000 boys and girls ages 12-18 who are SJGT members. The tournament includes players from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi.

The players are divided into five divisions, based on age and gender. In each division the top three players receive a trophy and the top 10 will be awarded points toward the 2006 SJGT championship tournament.

The third SJGT event to be played at the course, the Camp Creek Classic is the first of 26 events on the SJGT 2006 schedule between January and August 2006. Sponsors for the tournament include Cleveland Golf, Nike Golf, Synovus Financial Corporation, Holiday Inn, Ashworth and others.

“Supporting junior golf is an important part of Camp Creek and St. Joe’s mission,” says Will Hopkins, General Manager at Camp Creek. “As one of the highest-rated facilities in the SJGT footprint, we are thrilled to give these young golfers a chance to compete under championship conditions.”

Now in its 12th season, the Auburn, Ala.-based SJGT has helped more than 100 juniors go on to play NCAA Division I golf. SJGT was founded on the principle of giving juniors a chance to play competitively while building their resume for a potential collegiate career.
