Camp Creek Golf Club Completes Enhancements
Critically-Acclaimed Tom Fazio Design Features Tour-Grade Sand in 60 Bunkers
(March 20th 2006) (SEAGROVE BEACH, Fla.) – Camp Creek Golf Club -- the award-winning Tom Fazio design developed by St. Joe and located along Northwest Florida’s stunning Gulf Coast – has completed a major bunker enhancement project as part of its move toward privatization later in the year.
All 60 bunkers were upgraded with visually-stunning, alabaster-white sand from nearby Red Bay Sand Company, Inc. The Tour-grade material provides a consistent, firm texture commensurate with that found at the world’s greatest golf courses. Bunker liners were also installed on severe slopes to hold sand in place, prevent erosion and reduce the number of balls plugged in the bunker walls.
“This project elevates the quality of the bunkers at Camp Creek to a PGA Tour-caliber level found at many of the best private courses in the U.S.” says Will Hopkins, General Manager at Camp Creek. “We are excited to offer these enhanced conditions to our regular customers, first-time golfers and prospective members.”
The transition from public to private play will occur over the summer of 2006, with restricted play for members and JOE resort guests to begin Labor Day 2006. Under the privatization plan, play at Camp Creek would be limited to club members and their guests, guests of the WaterColor Inn and guests staying at JOE rental management properties.
Memberships in the club are expected to be available for purchase in June of 2006 and will be available only to those owning property in designated JOE towns and communities in the area, including nearby WaterColor and WaterSound Beach. The cost of membership has yet to be established.

Camp Creek was recently recognized for its environmental stewardship through designation as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System (ACSS). Superintendent Larry Livingston was similarly distinguished as a certified Audubon Steward.
