Ben Sutton Golf School to Open New Facility at Christman’s Windham House Resort
(December 12th 2005) Nation’s Longest Running Golf-Instruction Destination Expands with Northeast Location
(SUN CITY CENTER, Fla.) – Ben Sutton Golf School -- the nation’s longest-running, largest golf instruction destination – today announces the opening of a new instruction facility located at the historic Christman’s Windham House Resort in Windham, N.Y.
Located in the heart of the northern Catskills -- just three hours north of New York City and one hour from the Albany “Capital District,” Kingston and Oneonta -- the full service campus will open in April, 2006.
“Ben Sutton Golf School is one of the most recognized and respected names in golf instruction and the school is the perfect complement to the other recreational activities the Windham House offers,” says Brian Christman, president and owner of Christman’s Windham House.
Students participating in any of the three-, five- or seven-day programs will have access to the property’s 7,072-yard championship Mountain Course, opened in 2002, and the nine-hole, beginner-friendly “Valley 9” executive course. Also available to students are all Windham House amenities, including: spacious, comfortable rooms spread among six buildings; “fast-dry” tennis court; pool and ping pong tables in the recreation loft; swimming pool; hiking and fine dining at the historic inn.
“The quality of the property, its storied history and an ownership committed to providing the highest levels of guest service and amenities makes the Windham House the ideal location for Ben Sutton Golf School’s second facility,” says Dick Sutton, the school’s president.
For over 35 years, Ben Sutton Golf School has attracted students from population centers throughout the Northeastern U.S. and around the world to its original location in Sun City Center, Florida, centrally located between Tampa and Sarasota. Prospective and returning students will be able to choose between two fully-equipped instructional facilities depending on their travel, climate and golf preferences.
Carrying on its commitment to “non-traditional” instructional curriculums, plans are in the works for the Windham House location to offer Ben Sutton Golf School’s nationally recognized “Women Only,” program in multi-day formats. Women Only programs feature Ben Sutton Golf School’s esteemed, LPGA instructors and provide a comfortable, non-intimidating learning environment for beginning, intermediate and advanced women golfers who want to focus on course management, etiquette and both the short and long games.
