Ashton Golf is once again victorious on The Players Tour
(September 22nd 2005) Ashton Golf would like to congratulate Jeff Gavin of Mississauga, Canada on his win at the latest Players Tour stop in Atlanta Georgia. Amongst a world-class field consisting of over 30 of the worlds’ top long drive competitors, he blasted an impressive, 396 yd drive; outdistancing his next competitor by 10 yards to win the event. Jeff’s 396 yard drive was also the longest ball of the tournament.
“It was a very long day for me,” says Gavin. “I had to go through 6 rounds to reach the finals. I actually won on my last ball. I thought to myself, just relax and put a good swing on it. When I hit it, I knew it was going to be deep. The ball seemed to go up in the air and hang forever. When they came back with the 396, I was over the moon. This is my first professional win and I’m really feeling good going into the Re/Max World Finals next month in Mesquite, Nevada.”
Jeff used an Ashton X-1 5.5 degree driver to win the $7,000 U.S. first prize.
“Quite honestly, when Jeff gave me the call, I thought finally! ” says Ashton Golf President Cliff Barron. “In my opinion Jeff has worked on his swing, physical conditioning and the mental aspect of his game more then any competitor I know. He was way over due. It’s not often you find a golfer who can generate over 152mph swing speed and a confirmed ball speed of 219mph on a consistent basis. Now that Jeff’s got a win under his belt, look out. Next month in Mesquite should be very interesting.”
An impressive group of the world’s elite long drive competitors have chosen to play the Ashton X-1 Driver. In 2005 Ashton Golf has won 3 of the 5 “major” long drive competitions held in the U.S. That’s a 60% success record. Pretty amazing considering over 90% of the field uses the competitions’ products. The X-1 Driver simply contains the best engineering and it’s slowly being recognized for its performance.
Ashton Golf is a manufacturer of high quality precision golf components. Their X-Brid hybrid club is the newest addition to their line. Ashton Golf will have numerous players hitting the X-1 and MS-5 Drivers at the 2005 Re/Max World Long Drive Finals in Mesquite, Nevada in October.
