AccuSport International, Inc. Restructures, Adds to Management Team(September 1st 2005) New CEO, Marketing Executive and Business Technology Group set to lead Golf Technology Company
Winston-Salem, NC (Sept. 1, 2005) AccuSport International, Inc. announced today the hiring of Randall Tuttle and Don Thorup as Chief Executive Officer and Director of Marketing and Communications respectively. The company also announced the formation of a business technology development group that will be led by David Rankin, President of AccuSport.
AccuSport is the leading developer and marketer of golf swing launch monitors and its Vector Launch System is recognized throughout the golf industry for its accuracy, portability and affordability. The Vector Launch System measures and analyzes launch angle, ball speed, backspin, sidespin and side angle to instantaneously quantify the performance of both player and equipment. Vector enables manufacturers to explore the club design and technology frontier, provides teaching golf professionals a technologically superior enhancement tool, and allows retailers to better serve their customers via a detailed club-fitting experience.
Tuttle joined AccuSport in late 2004 after a career which included positions as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Synagro Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: “SYGR”), and President of AMSCO, INC. An avid golfer, he brings a passion for the game and a solid business background running complex organizations. “I was initially intrigued by the opportunity to join AccuSport and become a part of the golf industry, but quickly turned into a raving fan of the company. Our client relationships with the OEM’s and club fitters are fantastic, and the Vector Launch System has clearly been an industry changing product,” Tuttle said.
The move by the company allows it to shift resources to focus on product development and growth strategies. “AccuSport continues to evolve as an organization as we deliver high value technology solutions to the golf industry,” Rankin said. “Increasingly,” he continued, “my time was being eaten up by the day-to-day operational running of the company. This move allows me to focus on the design and delivery of technology products for our customers. We asked Randall to join the organization, and assume responsibility for the daily operations so that we can continue to be at the forefront of new product development.”
Thorup, who joined the company in June, 2005, was formerly the President of The Lindon Group, a sales and marketing consulting company. He brings a varied experience which includes developing growth strategies and managing operations; designing and implementing business development programs; and providing consultation to companies to re-position and grow their brands. Thorup has also had direct responsibility for managing promotional programs for Fortune 500 companies. His areas of responsibility at AccuSport include marketing, advertising, public relations and corporate communications.
Rankin’s new AccuSport Business Technology Group is charged with the design and delivery of new products and product enhancements. “I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to assemble a highly skilled team of engineers and software developers who will have a singular focus on the design and delivery of the next great suite of products for the golf industry. These additions to the management team really give us the strength and flexibility to position the company as a market leader, and further solidifies our commitment to the golf industry. I couldn’t be more excited about the future for AccuSport,” Rankin said.
AccuSport International, Inc., located in Winston-Salem, NC, is driven by technology and a desire to improve the game of golf, and make it more enjoyable and accessible to golfers of all skill levels. AccuSport introduced the Vector Launch System to the commercial market in 2003, and has rapidly become the industry leader in launch monitor technology and market share. With distribution in Europe, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan and Australia, the Vector Launch System has become the tool that is changing the way the golf industry looks at ball flight, driver lofts and ball spin rates, and is helping all golfers better understand their game.
